Tesla shares down after Elon Musk row with Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump has threatened to cut off billions of dollars in subsidies that Elon Musk's companies receive from the federal government.
Shares in Tesla were down nearly 5.5% on Tuesday after the latest escalation in the war of words between the president and the Tesla boss.
Musk, the world’s richest man, criticised Trump’s 'big, beautiful' bill, which would make permanent large tax cuts, and cut spending in a wide range of programmes, including food subsidies and healthcare for lower-income Americans.

The Pentagon has halted some shipments of air defense missiles and other precision munitions to Ukraine over concerns that US stockpiles are too low, officials said Tuesday. "This is going to have life and death consequences in terms of how many people will die in Russian strikes," said FRANCE 24's Correspondent, Kyiv, Ukraine Emmanuelle Chaze. Exceptional early summer heatwave hits Europe with temperatures up to 46°C
An early summer heatwave has hit parts of Europe, forcing the closure of schools and tourist sites. Temperatures in Portugal topped 46 degrees Celsius — that's 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Meteorologists say this heatwave is exceptional for this time of year, and comes at a time when Europe is heating up at twice the global average speed.
